Problem Solving Song
One Fish Two Fish
We Are Becoming Problem Solvers
Have you ever thought about how we solve problems? Have you ever talked about it with your child? Blindly acting in the dark, as the picture portrays, is probably not the most effective problem solving strategy. But how do we solve problems?
We are beginning to talk about how we solve problems by using the following steps:
1. Identify the problem.
2. Imagine what it would look like if that problem was solved. Build criteria about a solution.
3. Brainstorm possible ways to get to the solution.
4. Choose one or more strategies to try.
5. Check....Have we solved it or do we need to try another strategy.
Problem solving is a crucial skill for successful people. Let's work together to empower your child to increase his or her problem solving skills.

October Fun Has Begun
I hope you and your child are becoming comfortable with this new phase. It will be amazing to watch how much they will learn and develop over this year. In October we will continuing to review the letter sounds and begin reading more and more. We will be noticing changes as nature prepares for winter's arrival. How do you get ready for winter? It would be a great conversation to have with your child.
Thank you for your continued support. Your child is surely reaping the benefits.

Next Stop: Grade One
It probably feels like minutes ago that your child was a baby. In the past few years you have celebrated each stage of your child's development: their first smile, their first steps, sleeping in their big-kid bed, and many more. And now, here we are at the beginning of Grade One.
We are very excited to be working with you and your child this year. We believe that parents are their child's first and most important teachers. We feel honoured to be able to walk alongside you for this part of your child's leaning journey. We believe that this is going to be a great year together.
